About Us
I’m Hannah and I’m a trained wedding florist based in the Abergavenny countryside in South Wales, just over the Herefordshire border. While this is our base we are happy to and do travel further afield. We typically cover, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, South Wales, and the South West.wedding florist Herefordshire
Deer & Bee
Prior to floristry, I worked in organisational strategy and change, and as a coach. For a long time, I craved something more creative so after a bit of soul searching I decided that being a wedding florist would combine my passions of nature, design, and working with people. I then went on to train with the prestigious Tallulah Rose Flower School before going on to set up Deer & Bee. I still work as a coach and help other small businesses with developing their purpose and values.
Deer & Bee has become a bit of a family business with my husband, Rich, growing flowers and he can often be found up a stepladder the day before a wedding! The name, Deer & Bee, comes from our two children and the meaning behind their names and personalities.
Our values underpin every aspect of how the business operates and what you can expect from us:
We believe that business should exist for good so 10% of all profits go to charity. This cost is never passed on to couples, however, couples are invited to be involved in where that donation goes. We also ensure that we pay freelancers and anyone that works for us fairly.
Wherever possible we use British flowers. We (primarily my husband!) are starting to grow our own flowers on a small plot at the back of our house with the aim that this will allow us to work as sustainably as possible in the future. We don’t use foam or single use plastic and we compost everything we can which goes back into our soil for future growing.
Nature and the British countryside is a constant inspiration, and we love creating pieces that reflect the beauty and freedom of nature that surrounds us.
Building and nurturing relationships with the individuals and couples we work with is central to the way we work. There is no limit on how often you can get in touch with us which can be via email, social media or WhatsApp – we want you to feel as confident and relaxed about your wedding flowers as possible.
We are also conscious of how many weddings and events we take on at any one time to ensure that you get the best possible service and the attention that your special day deserves.
